Owners Tim and Karen are on hand to greet you and help with where to eat and shop as well as things to do in the area but will respect your privacy at all times. This non-smoking self catering accommodation has been refurbished to offer comfortable, modern, open plan accommodation for stylish living in a peaceful location. The interior is well appointed with a lounge/kitchen . It is bright and sunny in summer and cosy in winter with French windows looking out to an attractive and secluded private garden which looks onto a young flower meadow beyond.
The kitchen is well equipped and has crockery/glassware for 4 persons and a dishwasher to take care of the dirty dishes. A gas hob, full size electric oven and microwave makes cooking easier and there is a fridge with freezer box. There is also a small Lavazza coffee machine for your convenience. An iron and hair drier are provided in the Lodge.
After a long day walking on the fells, you can take a bath or a shower where large bath towels and complementary toiletries are provided. The bathroom is located on the ground floor next to the lounge area.
The double bedroom is reached by a wooden staircase leading to mezzanine gallery-style space. It’s a light and bright area with wood flooring, spot lights, double wardrobe with one window looking towards lovely views over meadows and fields and the other window looking out towards Sale Fell. There is an built-in wardrobe, a bedside table and lamp.
The location is superb being very close to the shore side of Bassenthwaite Lake. A gentle stroll to a highly recommended inn, a brand new distillery and bistro at the end of the lane and a ten minute drive to the surrounding fells of Skiddaw. Less than 10 minutes drive to either the bustling tourist town of Keswick or the Georgian Town of Cockermouth (the birth place of William Wordsworth).
The small south facing garden has pleasant views to a young flower meadow. Garden furniture and barbeque are provided for al fresco dining. There is private parking for your car beside the garden.
The Lodge is centrally heated and provides constant hot water. Bedding, towels and tea towels are included in the tariff. There is a colour flat screen TV/DVD player and the subtle spotlights and lamps create a relaxing ambience.
