Meadowside Cottage

Meadowside Cottage is situated between Keswick and Cockermouth at the head of Bassenthwaite Lake. It has recently been converted with brand new fittings and furnishings and sleeps up to 4 people in 2 double rooms with meadow views, both with en-suite walk in showers. The cottage is a light, modern self catering property with its own quiet private entrance and furnished patio with barbeque. It is attached to Lakeside Country Guest House, a grand Edwardian house overlooking the lake and Skiddaw mountain range.

The accommodation has been refurbished to a great standard with a stylish open plan living area featuring a fireplace with mood lighting, a well equipped kitchen with Bosch hob and cooker and Smeg dishwasher and an Italian mahogany dining table seating six. This extra seating is ideal as Meadowside Cottage can be booked in conjunction with Lakeside Lodge which sleeps 2 and is situated next door.

There is a flat screen TV in the lounge as well as two smaller TV’s with DVD players in each bedroom. Fluffy cotton towels, and toiletries are provided. Outside there is private parking for one car adjacent to the cottage and another in the main car park at the front of the Guest House.

The shore of Bassenthwaite lake is a short stroll away and Osprey can be seen nearby between April and September. Keswick and Cockermouth towns are a scenic 10 minute drive in opposite directions.

There are some pleasant walks locally including Sale Fell and the Honister pass to Buttermere Lake is a recommended drive.

There is a reputable local Inn within easy walking distance and the award winning Lakes Distillery and Bistro is at the end of the lane.

Meadowside provides bedding, towels, tea towels, hair drier and iron. Heating, hot water and wifi is included in the tariff.

Friendly owners Karen and Tim are happy to offer advice about where to go and what to do during your stay. There is plenty of wildlife and walks on the doorstep, including Silver Meadows just 3 minutes walk from the property where you can see a variety of birds. Sale Fell is also minutes away with fantastic views over Bassenthwaite Lake and the surrounding area.
